An opportunity exists within the Bechtel project team to work closely with our customer, BHP on the Olympic Dam’s Smelter Maintenance Campaign 2021 (SCM21). Bechtel were selected as the EPCM Contractor.

Document Controller

Plans, controls, and performs the activities of document management assigned to one or more key result areas of a large project. Responsible in the areas of records management, document control, and client administrative staff.

Utilize the standard Electronic Document Management Systems (ECMS), Aconex, to register, control, distribute, and transmit design documentation received from Project Administration.
Support quality audits and internal technical reviews.
Prepare routine documents using standard word processing, spreadsheets, or other office software as needed to support work activities.
Keep abreast of department technologies, techniques, and services that are available.
Provide technical guidance to project personnel in use of document management automated tools.
Perform other duties as directed by Bechtel Document Management Lead.
Communicates with client/field/supplier contacts to resolve daily administrative problems on the project.

Qualifications and Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
Awareness of quality issues, especially revision control and formatting associated with issuing of documents.
Must be self motivated and be able to work under minimum supervision.
General experience in all areas of document control
Knowledge of Bechtel’s organizational structure, functions, and procedures
Strong organizational skills
Thorough knowledge of Bechtel standard computerized systems
