Job Description: 

Experience Range : 2 – 6 Years / 8- 10yrs

Designation: Design Engineer/ Sr. Design Engineer/Tech Lead

Qualification : BE/B.Tech. Mechanical

Domain: Transmission

Primary Skill: 3D modelling, #Creo is must.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Benchmarking of Transaxle and Driveshaft aggregates.
  • 3D modelling and Drawing preparation in Creo.
  • To check DMU packaging
  • To prepare 4D documents to prepare TPL and release in PLM.
  • To coordinate with internal agencies like Proto planning, Testing, Vehicle Integration, CAE.
  • To coordinate with suppliers. To co-ordinate with different departments like IDT, ODT, CE office,
  • VATS for Benchmarking of aggregates or parts and relevant benchmark data collection.
  • To prepare drawings with tolerance stack ups and GD&T under guidance from Project Lead.
  • Co-ordina tion with Engg. Quality, Manufacturing, Customer Support, AQ for DFMEA/DFA/DFS/DFM document preparation and signoffs defined as per release milestones.
    Sizing and modeling of components and preparation of CAD layouts with guidance from Project
  • Lead and set internal / external standards along with consideration of Vehicle packaging constraints, DMU requirements etc.
  • DMU review with Vehicle Integration for finalisation of layouts.
  • To support for PLM Engineering BOM creation and Release taking into account BOM correctness and Quality requirements as per WCQ standards and PLM processes.
  • To co-ordinate with IDT and ODT for test samples readiness and Test execution.
  • To assist in ICR / VAVE activities from Idea Generation till implementation.
  • To co-ordinate with aggregate suppliers for Design Data Exchange, Test Samples Development etc.
  • To raise indents to proto planning for proto parts development and co- ordination during development activities.
  • To support in component suppliers for DFM / developmental issues.Preferred Skills & Kn owledge
  • Knowledge of 3D modelling and Drawing preparation in Creo, PLM E-BOM and Release Activities DFMEA, Failure Investigation
  • Good knowledge of Transmission (Clutch/Drive Axle/Gearbox/Transfer-case) aggregates.
  • Knowledge of GD & T & Tolerance Stack up. Knowledge of Major component manufacturing
  • Processes like Machining, Casting, Forging, Forming, and Welding.
  • Knowledge of Processes like DFM / DFA / DFS and Design for Cost and Reliability.
  • Preferably from Automobile Industry
